The vinyl components used in preparation of such medical products must be manufactured to the highest standards of quality and purity. For injection moulding, such compounds must also be formulated to provide excellent heat stability, high flow characteristics, and good mould release.
 
Rigid PVC
PolyTech offers a wide range of rigid vinyl compounds for blow molding, injection molding, and extrusion for medical devices and a bottle up to 5-gallons/ 20 litres capacity applications.

All of our rigid vinyl compounds offer excellent heat stability and high flow characteristics for ease of processing and high output. Custom colour matching is available for all compounds.

Radiopaque Compound
PolyTech radiopaque compounds are available in a variety of hardness and opacifier type. These compounds are designed for use as radiopaque striping or to be extruded into catheter tubing. Radiopacity is obtained through the incorporation of Barium Sulphate in a non-toxic vinyl base.

Customised medical compounds are available for kink-free, phthalate-free, radiation free applications.
 
Grades adhere to various Indian Standards as well as biological tests prescribed under USPXXI. PolyTech ensures that all ingredients used in the compounds are from manufactured, meeting the GMP norms prescribed, by FDA. Product offering includes grades tested and approved by NAMSA, USA. PolyTech specializes in the manufacture of medical compounds, which are manufactured in a state-of-art fully automated, & dedicated compounding line with class 100,000 facilities conforming to GMP requirements.

DEHP, Phthalate free Compounds

PVC is the most widely used plastic in medical products, accounting for 27% of all disposable plastic medical products. Tubing, IV and blood bags are the primary end uses for disposable PVC medical products. Applications not specific to clinical care are substantial, including office supplies and furniture, and building materials like flooring, roofing, wall covering and pipes.

Phthalates are plasticisers that confer the flexibility and softness that makes them the first choice among healthcare professionals around the world. DEHP or Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate is also known as di-octyl phthalate (DOP). It is the phthalate ester of the alcohol 2-ethyl hexanol, which is normally manufactured by the dimerisation of butyraldehyde, the butyraldehyde itself being synthesised from propylene. It possesses reasonable plasticising efficiency, fusion rate and viscosity (of great importance for plastisol applications).

While scientific evidence continues to indicate that DEHP is safe for primates, debates over the use of DEHP goes on. For those manufacturers caught in the middle of this issue, we have a solution.
